    Get PDF
Security in a business, especially in the mining industry, is a paramount necessity for the company's sustainability. The assurance of security is also a determining factor for a company's productivity in carrying out its activities. Therefore, the management of an effective and efficient physical security system is required to support the company's operations in producing and gaining profits. The ultimate goal of security management is the creation of a conducive situation that can minimize threats, disturbances, obstacles, or challenges that disrupt a company's operations. In the day-to-day operations of an organization that manages a physical security system, it must undoubtedly have an effective and efficient organizational structure. Its existence should serve as a guideline for security personnel themselves as well as for users or stakeholders in a company, thus ensuring effectiveness and efficiency as per expectations. In this research, the researcher will conduct a study on the effective management of the security division's organizational structure during the transition from permanent employees to outsourcing or contract employees in the mining industry sector. In the ongoing transition process, the researcher has identified gaps in various stages, including planning, communication, implementation, and development. Therefore, there is a need for improvisation on what has been done. By conducting qualitative research, security managers in mining companies will receive guidance and guidelines based on the research when undergoing the transition from permanent security personnel to outsourcing, while still adhering to the security rules and standards of mining companies in Indonesia and globally. The recommendations from this research emphasize the need for a Needs Analysis and Risk Assessment by security managers when undergoing the transition process. This involves a comprehensive identification of the core tasks and functions of a security officer in a mining company, thus gaining a clear understanding of the quantity, qualifications, and types of skills required for contract or outsourcing employees in the mining company

The increasing importance of the agriculture and food industry, due to the growing population and competitive business landscape, has driven the need to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of organisational and supply chain processes. Lean practices have been proposed to help reduce wastage, improve processes, and give more value to customers. However, research and debates on the implementation of lean practices in the agri-food industry are still limited. Therefore, this study aims to explore the current knowledge state of lean practices under the agri-food supply chain process by using a systematic literature approach. Additions for future research areas are also identified and presented. Our review suggests that the study of the lean concept in the context of agri-food supply chain is still limited and thus is open for future exploration. Furthermore, future research employing multiple methods, focusing on the downstream actors in the supply chain and empirical evaluations of lean impacts is encouraged. The contribution of this study will provide an insight for scholars of current and future research opportunities to explore. At the same time, practitioners can gain knowledge of lean practices and tools that might be applied to their business contexts

Abstract. PT Badak NGL is a non profit company to operate the Bontang LNG Plant in East Kalimantan, the main job is to liquify the natural feed gas to become the Liquified Natural Gas (LNG). As the operator with at cost scheme, the efficiency and effectiveness of budget utiliziation is one of PT Badak NGL’s performance KPI, including the efficiency of material Inventory stored in Warehouse. PT Badak NGL’s main inventory consist only the Maintenance Repair & Operation (MRO) material such as chemical and sparepart of equipment. According to the 2017 benchmarking result, Inventory performance of PT Badak NGL is below the average, especially on the Inventory Value aspect. Last 5 years data shows that total Inventory Value is around US$ 35 Million, but 73% of them is classified as the Potential Dead Stock (PDS); materials that more than 5 years stay in the warehouse. The Turnover Ratio is around 70% which means, only 70% come out (utilized) while the remaining 30% stays in warehouse, this happen every years and makes contribution to the PDS. According to this condition, the business problem in this paper is “Inefficient MRO Inventory due to large PDS Materials over the years in PT Badak NGL. Using the Ishikawa (fishbone) Diagram and Focus Group Discussion, the main contributor of the problem is the Inventory Method and Policies. Several alternative solutions have been developed and using Kepner-Tregoe Decision Analysis there are two solutions that should be conducted immediately to reduce the PDS; Apply Impairment Method and Recategorize Materials. Potential Problem Analysis is also conducted for those two solutions to anticipate any potential problem occurred and the choice of contingency plans. The implementation plan has also developed with the target can be finished by six months. Keywords: inventory, Kepner-Tregoe, MRO, PT Badak NGL, LNG, Potential Dead Stock

Abstract. Retail is one of the promising business sectors to run in Indonesia. Nowadays, small size retail stores such as minimarkets is counted as largely growing business in Indonesia. Along with its rapid growth, retail businesses face many problems. One of the most complicated problems in this business sector is overstocking and under stocking of inventory that may happen at the same period. PT. Idola Jaya Semesta, a growing non-food convenience store, faces this inventory problem. This research aims to get the best inventory policy for PT. Idola Jaya Semesta. The sample data to be analyzed is limited to the best-selling category which is stationary, and focused on the top ten most overstocked items by percentage in a random retail store, which is the retail store in Bintaro. The data of the inventory report in the central store and distribution center is employed as a basis data of the research. The researchers used probabilistic method and economic order quantity model to analyze the inventory practices and to propose a solution. The result of this research is an inventory policy (maximum inventory level and reorder point) that avoid those problems and maximize profit. The research founds that using EOQ results in the lowest total inventory cost for the company, it is around IDR 4 million rupiahs cheaper than the current policy in a course of a year. However the current existing “TSM†policy of the company results in the lowest under stocking cost by IDR 68,308, not a very significant amount. In the long term the EOQ policy results in better to be used as it rises, the profitability ratio in the next 5 years using Monte Carlo Simulation for the items that have a yearly demand of over 100, but with the TSM policy it is better to use with items that have a yearly demand below 100. Ultimately, the best solution is to use the EOQ policy because it has the lowest total inventory cost and the profitability ratio of items with a yearly demand below 100 is not very significant for the company’s total profit. By using the sensitivity analysis, it is also more reliable to use the EOQ policy, when compared to the current existing TSM policy, as it is less sensitive to a change in demand compared to the current policy. The implementation plan for the company is very simple, the company employed a software engineer to create the software used to determine how much to order and the point of reorder, the company’s software engineer needs to simply change the formula of the current policy to the EOQ policy within the software program codes. Since the software is a form of digital media, it can be applied fast and at a low cost. Keywords: Inventory Management; Economic Order Quantity; Re-order Point; Non-Food; Convenience Store;Retai

Supply chain system implementation consists of two necessary elements, the network design and the information technology (IT). In West Java, Supply Chain Center (SCC) implementation notion is based on the province’s current SMEs circumstances, including low financial performance, decentralized data, and no roadmap between actors. This research analyzes West Java Supply Chain Financing System (SCFS) using strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) analysis. Qualitative methodology was employed for this research. First, the primary data was collected from focus group discussion (FGD) and the secondary data was obtained from West Java government documents. Second, this research used SWOT analysis from collected data which generate nine alternative strategies to build effective SCFS to cope with identified issues and its implications to expand rural financial services, supply chains, and overall sustainable development
